Proudly announcing, that the online magazine “THE VERGE” has applied my photo “white cat” to the article “Dark Arts – Meet the architects of Tumblr’s cyberpunk renaissance“. The photo has taken in TOKYO in the area of Shibuya. It’s processed with NIK’s SilverEffex.

Egypt 1994 – analogue
It was 1994 when I travled to Egypt. It was a strange experience at that time for me – the very different culture – busy Kairo – the Ramadan – a big contrast between mass tourism at some spots and poorest suburbs… See here some photos I have scanned from my old transparencies
It started by asking a local guy about interesting places. We where standing on a hill in Italian’s Toscany watching the landscape at that time. I saw on the horizon and abandoned farm. Asking him about it he told me about some more locations similar. It was Toiano-Palaia. See here: The next phot I had posted already on FLICKR. It was the one with the most “clicks” I ever got for a photo there: in Nv. 2013 about 18200!!! Have a look: The village Toiano-Palaia has for some reasons it’s own facebook page. I was there about 5am and was able to see the sun rise out of the …
Sicily – abandoned Monastery
More of the monastery in Sicily here….
I hvae just visited Taipei / Taiwan (Republic of China / ROC). It was a new experience for me as I havn’t been there before. The city and people seem to be more japanese then chinese (what personally I have appreciated). Taipei is a very exciting, clean and diversified city. A lot of culture can be found there. For example impressive for me were two exhibitions I have seen in the Museum of fine Arts: – The Images of Chang Chao-Tang, 1959-2013 – Imminent Sounds：Falls and Crossings by Grame More Taipei Impressions on [OOM]
no…nothing happened…nothing happened…nothing happened…no…nothing
This is a part of “Contrasts of Sicilly – Abandoned village“… where I saw a ghost…
Are they going to review those photos ever? Do you want to know what type of photos they are taking – see here For me amazing is the new way of taking the shots. In the past the view through the ocular, then next the view on the little, tiny display of the pocket cameras…. and today the look to thew tablet as you can see above.
This is a photo series in 4 parts of an abandoned brewery in Dachau / Bavaria / Germany. I have visited this brewery many times when it was still operating. Around there is a beer garden under huhge old trees – a lovely place. The beer was great and cheap (1l: 5:20DM). The brewery looks back to a history of more then 200 years. It was founded in 1791. The building and escpecially the beer cellars ~ 20mtr beneth the building in the rock of the mountain seems to be from that time. Unfortunaty it was closed around 2000, because the family seems not to be interested anymore. Now the …
Cudgel – Keule
First of all – in order to avoid to be categorized on to the coner of “inadequate-” or “violence-” content (dependent on your personal preferences) – this is simply a touristical snap shot on a public place in Florence / Italy … !!! The city of Florence is full of that stuff – maybe that’s why so many tourists are flooding this place.
Bologna: Asinelli and Garisenda
This is a first impression of our last tour through the Toscany/ Italy. The last day we have spend in the city Bologna – which was a great surprise to me: I always had in mind an ugly industrial place, but in fact it is one of the most attractive cities I’ve found so far in Italy: It’s by far less touristical then e.g. Sienna or Firence and the hughe downtows has amazingly many nice things to see. Further there are many cultural activities.
Surprisingly, this photo found more then 4500 followeres on my FLICKR stream. It was taken in Munich / Alter Hof. I took it with a short focal length to highlight the musicians within the stream of people.
The ghost of a brewery
This ghost was seen in a brewery from 1791. Who knows if he’s already that old. I’ve seen him deep down in the sallar where the beer barrels have been cooled.
