I’ve started to work on a page about Munich: A mix with infos, history, videos and links about my home-town. Take a special attention to the chapter my view photos I took in different contexts. So far, the page is just the beginning with: | History | Quarters | Museum | Videos | Photos | my view | References | Enjoy… München / Munich / Monaco
There is a very special quarter in the north-east of Munich, just behind the Olympia-Park: BORSTEI. We took some photos
…this series shows the other side of the design week… have a look into the details:
During a short walk this sunday morning, I’ve found some interesting views. All the series can be found here: Munich – Westend This first photo is the window of a shot for truffles. The next one is the window of the “Münchner Federn Zentrale”
This bus, I’ve seen today in Munich, close to the residence. It remembers be to old movies of Heinz Erhardt, such as “Das kann unseren Willi doch nicht erschüttern“. Not that I like this kind of stuff, but it represents a kind of awareness of life of that time… ( more new photos also in D40OOM.eu [C] )
I just came back from a trip to Japan with a ‘Lensbaby‘s ‘Control Freak’. This is a free adjustable tilt-shift optics with exhangable lens and aperture plates. It’s by far not usable for precise work, such as architecture photography, but is allows a wide degree of freedom for artistic works. Here two examples from of Munich’s Olpymic statium. The first one is a kind of classic tilt-shift style. The second one also, but more my style… Here a first series
This is another hint to a photoseries I have made during my ABANDONED places tour ’14: The ‘russian flame cut mill‘ I’ve found it in a city of east germany. Interestingly the FLICKR-based ‘flickriver’ showen further views if this place. As you can see there, this place is not really interesting from the documentation point of view. Anyway, I have tried to point out some perspectives interessting form me. Judge on your own, what you prefer and let me know.
Proudly announcing, that the online magazine “THE VERGE” has applied my photo “white cat” to the article “Dark Arts – Meet the architects of Tumblr’s cyberpunk renaissance“. The photo has taken in TOKYO in the area of Shibuya. It’s processed with NIK’s SilverEffex.

It was 1994 when I travled to Egypt. It was a strange experience at that time for me – the very different culture – busy Kairo – the Ramadan – a big contrast between mass tourism at some spots and poorest suburbs… See here some photos I have scanned from my old transparencies
Many new photo series on [OOM] || [D40OOM] for example, I have introduced the new category big CITIES
I hvae just visited Taipei / Taiwan (Republic of China / ROC). It was a new experience for me as I havn’t been there before. The city and people seem to be more japanese then chinese (what personally I have appreciated). Taipei is a very exciting, clean and diversified city. A lot of culture can be found there. For example impressive for me were two exhibitions I have seen in the Museum of fine Arts: – The Images of Chang Chao-Tang, 1959-2013 – Imminent Sounds：Falls and Crossings by Grame More Taipei Impressions on [OOM]
